Celebrants

Funeral Celebrants are skilled in working with people. With a calm reassuring manner a good celebrant understands the need to balance the rituals and obligations of a funeral service with wishes and needs of the family. Celebrants we recommend here at Eagars are compassionate, caring and have a full understanding of the requirements of working with us as Funeral Directors. The Celebrants we work alongside are committed to helping you create a ceremony that will be a truly fitting farewell to your loved one.

Funerals have a powerful and significant place in our society and when a loved one dies, we must not only remember that person’s life, but also celebrate their journey. I specialise in creating a meaningful service, delivered with respect and compassion, while supporting clients with as much time and space as is needed. With a professional background in event planning and human resources, in addition to my own life experiences I have an open-minded and culturally sensitive approach to life, death and everything in between. I understand that every person has a different story and relationships to consider. I use my experience to help families and friends find the right words to express their feelings and ensure their loved one’s wishes are met. So when the time comes to look back, I will help you to take inspiration in the memories and legacy they left behind. I look forward to sharing stories about your loved one’s life, character, beliefs, and values – honouring them with a ceremony that is personal, uplifting, comforting and full of love.

I’m Jodi Muggeridge, and I'm here to support your family during difficult times as a Funeral Celebrant. Family means everything to me, and I know how important it is to have someone there when you need it most. Grief is something I understand deeply. I've experienced the loss of my brother in a car accident and, tragically, our first grandson shortly after his birth. These experiences have shaped my empathy and my commitment to helping others navigate through their own grief. On a personal note, I've been happily married for 33 years, and my husband and I have been blessed with two wonderful adult children who are now married themselves. We're also proud grandparents to seven beautiful grandchildren who bring immense joy to our lives. For me, it's as simple as this: I love what I do. I'm dedicated to making your loved one's day as special as they deserve it to be. Your family's comfort and peace of mind are my top priorities, and I promise to be there every step of the way.

My life experience has allowed me to cross paths with many different people who all have a unique story; and everyone’s story is worth telling when we farewell them from our lives.  Whether our loss was expected, or in tragedy, I will help you celebrate your loved family member for the gift they were to you; remaining sensitive to their values and beliefs, while highlighting what you treasure about them. My varied vocational background includes youth work, project negotiation and non-profit leadership, including many public-speaking and performance roles, and have officiated at funeral services for over 35 years. I am happily married to Paula, with five adult children and three grandchildren, and I enjoy spending time now with my wife dancing or singing.
